Using Apostrophe's to show possession


Whose is it?

Apostrophes ( ‘ ) can show ownership.  Describe what object is owned and who owns it.

8.   The sock’s fabric was white.

To show ownership of something, we add an apostrophe and the letter "s".

Examples:   Mary's lunch
                     The baby's bear
                      My brother's cat
